I love water rides at amusement parks. It’s a great place to see a lot of people in normal clothes get wet. The best park near me is cedar point in Ohio. There’s 2 main water rides there. One is a circular raft ride that has 4 waterfalls it will pass under. There is a chance of staying dry as only part of the raft can go under a waterfall. To me that adds to the thrill and excitement of not knowing if or who is going to get wet. But if you do go under one of the waterfalls, you get soaked.

The other ride is a big boat ride called snake river falls that has about 20 people in it. The ride takes you up and around to one big drop that makes a huge tidal wave of water rain down on you. It doesn’t matter where you sit, you are guaranteed to get soaked. The tidal wave will also splash people standing on a bridge, which you pass by when you exit the ride, in case you didn’t get wet enough.

They had a water ride a number of years ago that I didn’t care for, they have since gotten rid of it and I can understand why. It was called shoot the rapids. You sit on hard seats with a hard back and the ride jerks you around a lot. I remember when they first got the ride and were advertising it, I was so excited to try it. The ride ended up putting a good sized bruise on my spine in my lower back from all the jerking around it did. It made any other rides I rode on for the rest of the day painful. On top of that, I barely got wet on it.

When I was about 5 my family took a trip to cedar point. They had a log ride there that fit 4 people, front to back. I remember being nervous about the ride at first because at the time I didn’t like getting my clothes wet. My family had me sit in the front seat, and they said I’d get wet up front so that made me nervous. The ride was mostly tame. It had a drop near the end that would cause a splash into the log. However, the splash only got the 3rd and 4th person wet, not the one up front. I ended up loving the ride and riding it a lot that day, always sitting in the front. Then the final time we rode it my family made me sit in the 4th spot in the back, and I ended up getting splashed. The front of my shirt and shorts were wet and I remember not enjoying it after that.

So between the raft ride and snake river falls it’s a toss up as to which one of them is my favorite. I think I like the raft ride a bit more for the excitement of not knowing when or if you’ll be hit by one of the waterfalls.
